At Love’s Command: Book Review

Karen Witemeyer’s newest book, At Love’s Command, is absolutely captivating! The story line will keep you reading until you get to the end. And if you’re like me, once you’re done, you will sigh and stare at the lovely cover, wishing you hadn’t read so fast so that it could last longer.
One of the things I loved about this story is that one of the main characters, Josephine, is an independent, tough, and kind. She doesn’t need a man to “swoop” in and rescue her. But through the story you see this character grow and mature.
And let’s talk about Matthew Hanger. Basically the Mr. Darcy of the West. Sigh. He’s a leader of a band of mercenaries, trying to help others when they can. I don’t usually pick “favorites” when it comes to fictional characters but for Matthew Hanger, I made an exception.
If you are looking for a story that leave you breathless and reading until 4am, then look no further. This book has action, faith, love, and friendship. With the lovely Western setting and well rounded characters, I give this one a 6 out of 5 stars.
