A Cowboy For Keeps: Book Review

A Cowboy For Keeps written by Jody Hedlund will take you back in time to the mountains of the lovely state of Colorado. I was personally really hoping to like this book but it just wasn’t my favorite. You know when sometimes you are in the mood to just read a particular type of book? Well I wasn’t really in the mood to read this one unfortunately. Nothing against the author who’s books I have enjoyed before. There were some things I liked about it. Which I will cover first.

First of all, the setting. Located in a small town nestled in the mountains of Colorado. Hedlund’s descriptions of the scenery were spot on. And one of the things I enjoyed about the book.

The first few chapters were fast paced, having me turning the pages to find out what happened next. But then the “excitement” tapered off a bit. It did pick up again near the end though.

Some things I didn’t like about the book include things like very little Christian aspects. It was more of a “clean” novel than a Christian one in my opinion. Didn’t have much spiritual depth. And there was a bit too much “physical” touching in my opinion.

I’m not sure if I’ll read the next one or not. We shall see. As I said, this is my personal opinion. There are defiantly entertaining aspects to this story and if you’re wanting a light read, I would recommend this one.

*Please note I was given this book by the publisher. All opinions are my own.
